Wipe water from wood furniture after removing lamps and tabletop items.
Remove and prop up wet upholstery cushions and check for possible bleeding.
Place aluminum foil, saucers or wood blocks between furniture legs and wet carpets.
Turn up the air conditioning for maximum drying in summer.
Open windows to speed drying in other seasons.
Remove orientals and colored rugs from wet wall-to-wall carpet.
Open drawers and cabinet doors.  Do not force.
